Bruce Reynolds OAM was a Life Member and Past Committee Member of the Waverley Little Athletics Centre Inc., and a Life Governor of Little Athletics Victoria. He was our longest serving volunteer, having been involved with the Centre since 1975/76.
Bruce's first involvement in Little Athletics was as the Coaching Manager at the Harmsley Little Athletics Cenre in Western Australia, from 1971/75. He and his family moved to Victoria and settled at Waverley. Bruce has been involved at Club, Centre, Region, State and National level, serving on the Victorian Little Athletics Association Board of Management for 6 years. He was the first Waverley volunteer to be awarded Life Governor of VLAA, in 1984/85, and was the only recipient until Steven Lopes was honoured in 2016.
In 2021, Bruce was was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia, for his 50 years of service to Little Athletics.
Bruce Reynolds passed away peacefully on 21st March 2022, surrounded by his family. He is the third WLAC Life Member to have passed away.
